He actually wants a mazda speed 3 and he wants to buy $1500 Brembo calipers for it for “street racing”. The jeep is a new development. You also need an opponent for street racing of which suburban North Carolina has very few.

What this kid really needs is a 300k mile Jetta diesel on it’s last legs, or an alternate choice, a little girls barbie bike.

Actually, thinking about it a bit more, they’re worse. This kid could be all talk. They actually do it. Street racing is about the dumbest thing you can do in a car and is right up there with driving drunk.

The only thing in their defense is that their cars are properly set up purpose built cars. They don’t do it out in the open either. Does that make it okay? No, not one little sliver of a bit, but they don’t need to brag about it either. They’re aware it’s stupid, but that’s their choice. Just like my friends know I don’t go to parties, these guys know I wont follow them out for any runs, I don’t want to see it, hear it or be anywhere near it.

Maybe. It depends. Much like how doing donuts in an abandoned parking lot is pretty much fine, if they’re on a street with a dead end and no cross-streets (and therefor no chance of innocent other drivers being victims of them), it’s probably okay. I don’t think that many people would be this cautious, however.
